An atmosphere for warfare
Are we too distracted to notice?
I believe it goes without saying, the last two years have been a doozy. Things I never thought would happen, have happened. When I have thought things could not get any more insane, they did. I wonder where common sense has gone. No, I wonder where faith has gone. Because right now, there is more at stake than we realize. But, we have become too distracted to notice. The enemy has been successful in turning our attention from what matters, from who matters.
Does the world care about our children?
No. In everything I see and hear, I do not believe the world cares about our children. They are more confused, more anxious, more depressed, and more angry. They are fighting to find their own identity, and the world, this world has nothing but more confusion to offer them. Truly, the enemy has been prowling around like a lion, devouring those he finds (1 Peter 5:8). The next generation is being devoured because no one is protecting them. Far too many are trapped in an online world that could not care less about the state of their hearts and minds. Within so many twisted philosophies and near truths, I have seen more and more young people become twisted and bound by confusion. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
Is there any hope?
Thankfully, my hope, our hope is not in things of this world. You see, two years ago, I sat asking the Lord questions. The main thing I remember him saying was, “There is more confusion coming. It’s going to be crazier, but your hope is in me. Your peace is in me. Do not pay attention to what others say, pay attention to what I am saying, and where I am leading you.” And I did, not because I am more holy or better, but because I wanted to walk in obedience. Instead of becoming overwhelmed and anxious with the events around me, I pressed into Him. And now, as a friend shared, this season has created an atmosphere of warfare.
Have you joined the fight?
I ask you, believer, have you joined the fight? Or do you wonder how we are to fight?
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:11-13, NASB)
Friend, we have been caught up in issues rather than in the Kingdom. My hope is set on Christ, and I will not waiver when this world seems unsettled. Rather, we should be standing firm, not by our own merit but on the person of Christ. There is too much at stake to not join in the battle.
Good news, friend, we will win because He has already won. I invite you to stand shoulder to shoulder with me, to fall at His feet and pray. I invite you to join me in praying for the next generation.
Father, you are good and worthy of all praise. You direct our steps, and call us by name. Help us to fight as you have called us to fight, as victorious warriors. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear what matters most, what matters to you. Protect the hearts and minds of the next generation. Strengthen them, encourage them, and lead them to the places you have for them. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, from the evil that seeks to kill and destroy them. Let no weapon harm them, or be used against them. Help them to stand firmly on the truth of your word, and who you are. Amen.
